Heard of Heifer International?

One of my daughters has been seeking new ways to show charity to those in serious need. Today in her blog she wrote about and interesting organization called Heifer International. It sounds like a wonderful way to provide help for the long haul. I hope you will go by and read her post and follow up by considering them as a recipient of your help.

Do Something Challenge

One of our favorite bloggers recently issued a challenge to those of us who are making money from our blogs to share some of our good fortune with those who have a need. She left the decision up to each blogger to choose the place to send our help, so I decided that I would donate one day’s blogging income to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital. It is one of my favorite charities because no child is turned away from treatment for life threatening diseases on account of money! I wrote to St Jude to find out if they accept donations via paypal. They wrote back this morning to let me know that indeed they do. Here is the email address you can use to make a donation from your paypal account:

donors@stjude.org

I also checked to see the names of the organizations that PayPerPost offers as recipients of funds earned from their opportunities. I found that the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and Alzheimer’s Walk are the three that they direct the funds to at the blogger’s discretion. I decided to do one post for each of the three as another part of the challenge Silken issued! I hope many bloggers will accept the challenge that lots of blessings will come to those in need!
