Gone to the Dogs

Three Chiuahua dogs were recently born without front legs. Through the generous donations of several folks there has been a rememdy for the puppies. I am okay with the dogs being the recipients of the gift, but it amazes me sometimes how far people will go for their pets.

Finding the Right Dog

A couple of years ago we rescued a yellow Labrador retriever following the hurricane that devastated New Orleans and left so many dogs homeless. My grandsons, who live with me, love Buccanneer. He is a big and friendly dog, with heavy emphasis on big. His hundred pound body can easily knock down the six year old boy.

So every time we see small dogs, like the Yorkie puppies at Salt Creek Kennel near Tulsa, the young man tells us that when Buc is gone, he wants to get a small dog. By then, hopefully, the boy will be big enough to have whatever kind of dog he wants. But we will encourage him to go to a dependable kennel, like Salt Creek, that meets AKC standards and quality care so that pups from there will be happy and healthy!
